Benefit of the Bargain: BIG BEAD Part 1 Application

Welcome to the application for Utah's Broadband Infrastructure grant (BIG) as part of the federal BEAD program. Only eligible applicants who participated in the registration and pre-application process will be permitted to submit applications. Please download and reference the application guide at https://business.utah.gov/broadband/grants/ before submitting this application.

11.035 - Broadband Equity, Access, and Deployment Program Funding priorities are to build broadband infrastructure to specific locations as follows: 1. Unserved locations 2. Underserved locations 3. Unserved or underserved community anchor institutions. Funding cannot be used for any other purpose until each of these priorities has been met, starting with unserved locations.

Multiple applications may be submitted. If an eligible applicant submitted pre-applications in the name of subsidiaries, applications in the names of these subsidiaries may be submitted.

Eligible Entities include: 1. Telecommunications providers or internet service providers (ISPs) 2. Cooperatives 3. Nonprofit organizations 4. Public or private utilities 5. Public utility districts 6. Public-private partnerships 7. Local government entities partnered with one or more private entities for public-private partnerships aimed at expanding affordable broadband access 8. Tribal government entities All applicants must have participated in the registration and pre-application process
